DAY TWO
1. Go tae POST OFFICE ..................even if tha nearest yin be miles away  'n buy lotsa second class stamps.
2. Get oot yer Christmas cards frae last year that be left over / January Sales purchases 'n see how many extra ye be need BEFORE ye be go oot 'n buy mair.
3. Write oot cards 'n even if ye dunno address or postcode.............seal 'em in envelope wif tha recipiunnts name oan tha envelope.......'n shove oan a stamp- this SHOULD make ye research yer info before tha 18th which be last second class postin' date!
NOTE! MAKE SURE YE NO BE STICK A REMARK OAN CARD WHICH BE SAYS ...........A' RA BEST FER 2010..........coz this be dates tha card if ye no manage tae post it 'n it then be nae use tha followin' year!  KEEP TAE GENERAL COMMENTS LIKE 'BE HUVVA HAPPY NEW YEAR'.............soz it can be used fer ANY YEAR!
note 2...............MAKE SHOOR YE BE GOTTA PEN THAT WURKS BEFORE YE START WRITIN' YER CARDS...or at least huvva coupla spares in tha SAME CULLURED INK!

I just CANNOT get going on any of the Christmas jobs. It's not that I'm a BAH HUMBUG type - I love Christmas - but for some reason, this year it just isn't happening. Weird.

Public Health Minister Gillian Merron said
"Cold weather is especially dangerous for older people or those with serious illnesses.
"The Government's 'Keep Warm Keep Well' campaign gives important advice to older people on how to stay fit and healthy through the winter. "Keep warm keep well" leaflets are available in local GP's surgeries, pharmacies or council offices".
Yvonne Doyle, Regional Director of Public Health (South East Coast) said
"Remembering the needs of friends, relatives and neighbours who could be at risk is essential. In particular, they need to keep their home at the right temperature - between 18 and 21 degrees centigrade or 64 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit -, and if they can't heat all the rooms they use, they should heat the living room during the day and the bedroom just before they go to sleep. The elderly, and those who are ill, are particularly vulnerable during cold weather." |
