Hiya Cap'n, and Icy
Have had a manic few days.
Sympathy for the head Cap'n, and the tooth still, although hope it's improving/ed?
I was in bed yesterday with a migraine, and today have remnants of it, mostly affecting my left eye, so apols for any unspotted typos, am only using right eye atm!
Was out the house by half eight Saturday morning, unheard of for me. Got my hair highlighted by my new hairdresser. My god it was expensive Eek! but, am really pleased with it - so, am working on cost average, as I haven't spent on my hair really in a very long time.
Followed that with a trip to Bluewater, where we needed to return a toaster which had stopped accepting the bread (!) and The Cross pen bought for Mr F's birthday by the girls and which we now know cost £85. He used the pen a couple of times and it broke, but we haven't been able to get to a John Lewis store since.
A sweet girl had to go and consult her manager when I said we wanted a replacement, she came back and said 'We can send it away for repair .... or...'
'Or what?' I further enquired.
Silence
'Or we just keep the broken one?...if we were going to do that it'd have made more sense to buy a Bic, no?'
Blank looks.
I got worked up a bit more when she says 'It's £8.50 to return it to Cross'
What?
In the end I asked for the Manager and told her that no we weren't going to pay any charge, the pen is obviously not fit for purpose and it's not our fault.
Anyway, she still wouldn't swap it, even though she discovered that there seemed to be a bit missing in the barrel, so we're awaiting their call.
The toaster was easy, we just had a refund.
Had lunch at Carluccio's which was lovely, and bought a new shirt to wear on Sunday at the match. Home late, tired but smiling.
It'd been quite a nice and sunny day.
Sunday, good grief, had to get the one minute to nine train, left home, only half made up
Had to roll my jeans up to get through the station to the platform, it was flooded quite badly.
Got to Wembley 40 minutes before it even opened, by it was blowing a hooley. Still once we got in it was great. R's new boss has an 8 seater corporate box, so we met some people from other parts of the company and a man from Morrisons lol.
3 were supporting Man U and the rest of us were Villa, but there was no falling out, lol.
Had a really nice meal, pud and coffee served at half time and the only problem (apart from the Ref) was the result at the end. Boooooo.
Had a really slow journey home, not helped by two instances of 'crowd control' i.e. standing in the rain and the hail waiting to get into the station. Got home about 12 hours after we'd left.
I think it was the combination of hormones, lack of sleep all week, and a busy weekend that did for me yesterday, but it was great, and even worth paying for it after.
So - that's where I've been
My Dad used to have his copy delivered, bless. _________________ |

That sounds nice Icy
Cap'n, I waved, cheered, clapped, sang, jumped up and down, booed and shouted my lungs out - especially at both the Ref (who obviously had a bet on that day ) and at The Donkey (Villa player aka Emile Heskey) who seems bewildered and panicky when he found himself with the ball - at one stage I did yell out 'you've got the ball THAT MEANS IT'S YOUR GO NOW!!!'
I am a VERY vocal and enthusiastic supporter, you wouldn't want to sit near me.
A very heartened though at the strengths in the Villa squad, lots of England players, and (so far, no Ashley Cole/John Terry-alike scandals) _________________ |
